Terms & Conditions
Terms & Conditions
At Blue-Bee Dog Grooming, we believe every dog deserves a gentle, low-stress, and caring grooming experience. While some dogs may naturally find aspects of grooming challenging, we do our best to minimise stress and create a calm, positive environment.
Our Terms & Conditions ensure the smooth running of our services while keeping all dogs safe, happy, and comfortable. We appreciate you taking the time to read them before booking.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch—we’re happy to help!

1. Appointments & Cancellations
Appointments are by pre-booking only, and a deposit is required for most appointments to secure your booking. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit may not be refunded.
We operate on a one-to-one grooming basis, carefully scheduling appointments to maintain a calm environment, particularly for nervous or reactive dogs. Last-minute cancellations create gaps that are difficult to fill, impacting the business and other customers.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment to avoid disruption. Late arrivals affect our carefully planned schedule, which ensures minimal overlap between dogs. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are running late.
We respect our customers’ time and will only cancel or delay appointments in the event of something unforeseen and unavoidable, such as unexpected personal emergencies, severe weather, or logistical issues beyond our control. If this happens, we will offer an alternative appointment as soon as possible and provide a 10% discount as a goodwill gesture. This discount does not apply if the cancellation or delay is due to customer lateness, failure to inform us of relevant details, or rescheduling appointments for in-season bitches.
All clients must complete a registration form and consent agreement prior to their first grooming session.
2. Payments & Pricing
Payment is due on collection of your dog unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash, cards, and bank transfers.
We schedule sufficient time within each appointment to greet your dog, discuss any concerns (including matting or behavioural issues), and perform a condition check to ensure full transparency about grooming needs and any additional charges that may apply for extra time, equipment, or products.
Occasionally, unforeseen needs arise after the groom begins. While we aim to avoid delays, we will always contact you if additional
action is required. Please keep your phone available during the groom so we can discuss the best course of action with you.
3. Vaccinations & Health
All dogs must be up to date with core vaccinations, including Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Canine Parvovirus.
Owners must inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or behavioural concerns before the appointment so we can adjust our approach as needed.
Elderly, infirm, or health-compromised dogs are groomed at the owner’s risk, with their comfort as our top priority.
Pregnant bitches are not accepted for grooming due to potential stress and health risks.
4. Your Dog’s Wellbeing
We work at your dog’s pace to ensure a positive experience. If your dog becomes too anxious or unsettled, we may pause or stop the groom for their wellbeing.
During the initial check-in, we conduct a detailed health assessment to identify any concerns before beginning the groom. Grooming may also reveal lumps, bumps, or skin conditions not immediately visible. If it is safe to proceed, these will be recorded, and you will be advised upon collection so you can seek veterinary advice if necessary.
We are committed to transparency and communication. If anything unexpected occurs during the groom, we will always inform you.
5. Matting Policy
We prioritise your dog’s comfort and welfare. If a coat is severely matted, we may need to clip the coat short rather than cause distress through de-matting.
Severe matting can cause discomfort and pain, as it pulls the skin tight, leading to irritation, excessive licking, and restricted blood flow.
Additionally, clipping may result in a rapid return of blood flow, increasing skin sensitivity and the risk of minor nicks, for which we are not liable.
While clipping provides relief, it may also expose pre-existing skin conditions. We will always inform you of any concerns and provide aftercare advice at the end of the appointment.
Additional charges apply for severely matted coats, covering extra time, specialist tools, and wear and tear on equipment.
6. Fleas & Ticks
If fleas are found on your dog during the grooming process, a flea treatment bath will be required, and an additional charge will apply for deep cleaning the salon to prevent cross-contamination.
If fleas are detected, we will contact you before proceeding with a flea treatment.
If your dog has fleas or ticks, please inform us before the appointment so we can advise you on the best course of action.
In some cases, we may need to reschedule the appointment to the end of the day to allow for thorough decontamination of the salon before other dogs arrive.
7. In-Season Bitches
We accept in-season bitches, but owners must inform us before their appointment.
Appointments for in-season bitches may need to be rescheduled to the end of the day to minimise disruption to other dogs.
This adjustment does not qualify for the 10% discount offered for unforeseen salon cancellations.
8. Vet Care & Emergencies
In the rare event of an accident or medical emergency during the groom, we will contact you immediately.
If an accident occurs as a result of the grooming process, owners are responsible for taking their dog to the vet and covering initial costs. We will work with our insurance provider to determine if reimbursement applies.
Every precaution is taken to prevent injury, but grooming tools are sharp, and accidents can occasionally happen. If a minor injury occurs, we will inform you immediately.
9. Photography & Social Media
We may take before and after photos of your dog for our website, social media, and promotional materials.
If you do not wish for your dog’s photo to be used, please inform us at the time of your appointment.
Owners may request the removal of their dog’s image from online platforms within a reasonable timeframe.
By agreeing to have your dog’s photo taken, you acknowledge that images may be used for both social media and commercial purposes, including advertising, print materials, and online promotions.
10. Data Protection
We respect your privacy. All client information is stored securely and is not shared with third parties without consent, in compliance with UK data protection laws.
Data is stored for business records and may be retained for insurance or tax purposes.
By booking and attending an appointment at Blue-Bee Dog Grooming, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
