From day one, it was clear that Blue had a heart of gold but was slow to trust. She was very clear about her boundaries and still doesn’t really like being petted by strangers. Trips to the groomer were especially challenging. The noise, the handling, and the unfamiliar environment often left her stressed. Witnessing Blue’s anxiety during grooming visits made us reflect on how we could create an environment tailored to sensitive dogs. This sparked the idea of designing a grooming experience that prioritises calmness, trust, and individual care for every dog.
Drawing from a Background in Quality and Safety
Before starting Blue-Bee Dog Grooming, I worked as a Director for Quality and Safety in the NHS. My role focused on improving safety and quality for patients and staff, ensuring that care was both effective and compassionate. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how to create environments that prioritise wellbeing and minimise stress—principles that translate seamlessly into the world of dog grooming.
