Beat the Heat: How We’re Keeping Your Pup Cool and Comfortable This Summer
As the summer temperatures climb, keeping our four-legged clients safe, comfortable, and stress-free is my absolute top priority. Grooming is essential, but doing it safely in the summer requires extra care. I wanted to share a quick update on the steps I'm taking to beat the heat, and how we can work together to make your dog's next visit as breezy as possible.
A Cool Oasis inside the Salon
You'll be happy to know that the salon itself stays lovely and cool, even on the hottest days. Thanks to its insulated construction, solid concrete floors, strategic fan placement, and full air conditioning, it acts as a perfect shield against the summer sun.
To give the dogs extra relief, I have also adapted my grooming process for the season:
- Cooler Baths: I've switched to a lower, refreshing water temperature for bath time.
- No-Heat Drying: I have turned the heat completely off the dryers, using only cool air to dry coats without raising your dog's body temperature.
The Biggest Challenge: The Journey
For some dogs, the biggest challenge isn't actually being inside the salon—it's traveling to and from their appointment in a hot car.
If you are booked in over the next few days and you are at all concerned about your dog's journey, please don't worry. Your peace of mind (and your dog's safety) matters most. Just send me a message, and we will happily look at moving your appointment to a cooler day, no questions asked.

To give you even more flexibility, I am opening up a limited number of evening appointments over the coming weeks. These cooler, later slots are perfect for dogs who are sensitive to the heat or for owners who want to avoid the midday sun entirely.
Please Note: These evening slots will not appear on the online booking system. If you would prefer a cooler time of day for your dog's groom, please message me directly to check availability.
As always, every dog is completely different. Some breeze through the summer, while others need a little extra accommodation. I will always do my best to help you make the choice that is right for your dog.
